By Lesley Martin Don't listen to the other review -- I've My Friend Flicka and Thunderhead: Son of Flicka, two books of the trilogy. Flicka was a sorrel with a flaxen mane and tail, and so was her filly in the second book. Flicka was by Banner out of a dark mare named Rocket, and Kenneth's father was proud of Banner because he only threw sorrel or chestnut babies, which is what made Thunderhead, an albino, so different from the rest of the McLaughlin horses. This Breyer even comes with a book for you to confirm it! She is a sorrel with a flaxen mane and tail in the movies, too, which are also wonderful versions of the books.
This Breyer is even prettier in person and it is simply a rich color. My friend and I are big fans of the books, and were thrilled when this Breyer came out. The mold of this Breyer is a mare called Marabella, who Kathleen Moody (creator of molds for Breyer) designed to represent the ideal horse for youths and families: gentle, yet refined, graceful, and loved -- exactly what Flicka was.

By Ed This is defently one of the uglyer Breyer horses I've seen. Flicka was a palmino and this one looks like a chesnut. It is very durable though. But if your looking for a very durable horse and fun to play with and educational and actually looks like the horse I would check out Hidalgo.
