If only the roof would stay on better.....Feb 23, 2010 This is a fun toy for my seven year old daughter. However, I know it's designed to be this way, but the roof comes off so easily that it comes off when you don't want it to.
Fun Make BelieveFeb 01, 2010 My 4 year old granddaughter loved this for Christmas. She loves horses and can pretend play for hours with this set. It was easy to assemble and was very detailed. She loved it.
Once together...very durableJan 30, 2010
I had a hard time putting this together but did get it together! It doesn't fall apart like her other Breyer barn because it has plastic sides and is much sturdier. My daughter just turned 10 and loves playing it.
Total score as a gift!Jan 07, 2010 Bought this as a birthday gift for my niece who is a horse-crazy third grader. It was great!. Apparently, even with all the horses she's been given she's never had an actual stable for them. It was torn open and played with within seconds of being un-wrapped.
Despite this, it survived quite well, and has survived being set up and taken apart ment times since. She loves all the horses, too.
Falls apart easily but allows for creative playDec 10, 2009 Santa brought this for my animal-loving daughter last year and her frustration with the toy lead to its collecting dust. It falls apart if you so much as bump it and she enjoys moving toys from room to room. I used Superglue to hold it together, which worked reasonably well. The roof doesn't stay on at all. Since she needs to remove it for play, that's a problem, since without the roof, the structure is very weak (Superglue & all).
It's about what you'd expect for the money. I would recommend searching for a one-piece set with no assembly or a sturdier one, maybe made of wood.
I know Breyer is a classic name so I took a chance that the toy would be a better quality than it is. My daughter plays with the horses and the fence but I think after a year of "My stable broke again!" it's time to take my own advice and find something better.
