A BIG HARBOR SEAL!Apr 15, 2012

The harbor seal pup is well made, large and very cuddly! I really like Wild Republic stuffed animals and think they are of great quality!
This harbor seal is adorable. I purchased it along with the book, Andre the Famous Harbor Seal. Fran Hodgkins writes a true and touching story about a seal named Andre and his relationship with the Harbormaster, Harry Goodridge who adopted him. The setting is in Rockport, Maine and a statue of Andre is still there today!
Hugging onto this harbor seal while the story is being read, makes the book so much more enjoyable for a little one.
There is a DVD as well...Andre but I cautiously advise restraint if your youngster is less than 8. I just feel it inappropriate for little ones! The children in the movie banter endlessly among themselves... and are just plain fresh sometimes. Additionally, one child screamed at his dad and said he "HATES" him. Then a fisherman in the movie gets drunk and has a fistfight.... so after that, we turned the DVD off.
But back to the toy.... great stuffed animal and perfect replica of a harbor seal!!!! We also have the small 12 inch harbor seal Harbor Seal Cuddlekins 12" to keep this large one company!

My 10 year old daughter still loves stuffed animals. She loves the big ones so she can use them as pillows. I bought this mainly because it was on sale for a great price, and I was just trying to add a few gifts under the Christmas tree. Turns out it was one of her favorite gifts. She thought it was adorable, which it was. Super soft and seems to be very well made. A great buy. Purchased from Grim Reapers who provided super fast shipping.
