Great looking, but no available safety accessoriesMay 04, 2009

We purchased this tricycle for my son's 2nd birthday. I love the look of this tricyle, the bucket-like seat, and the low height, perfect for a toddler.
HOWEVER, I was severely disappointed that Kettler has no available accessories for this tricycle. The pushbar (a godsend for the back when trying to teach a toddler to pedal) is incompatible with this tricyle; nor does the safety harness attachment Kettler sells work with this tricycle. If I had to do it all over again, I would purchase a different tricycle for my son, even one of the other Kettler trikes that comes with both the attachment and pushbar. I just find it a little incredible that the company would not include such design options with all the tricycles they make, considering they do so for little kids. Especially at the price point of this particular trike.
I would recommend only purchasing this trike for a older toddler, perhaps closer to age 3 or 4, and definitely not if you live in the city, given the inability of parents to control the navigation.
Limited UsefulnessNov 03, 2010
By matt morris It's smaller than their standard tricycle so unfortunately, it's only good for 18-30 month olds. Our son got it for his 2nd b-day, outgrew it in a couple of months, and we ended up buying another Kettler tricycle. Although it looks great and is durable, I'd recommend investing in the other Kettler tricycle with the push handle. It'll save your back and your kid will enjoy it for a lot longer.
