This is my daughter's first love.Jun 25, 2007

My daughter received this doll for her first birthday as a gift from her aunt. I thought it was a little odd looking and was definitely not something I would have picked out, but for my daughter, it was love at first sight. She named it "Bopkey" (her then word for baby) and became deeply attached. I, of course, had to go buy another "back-up" Bopkey just in case the first one was in the wash, but now she likes to have them both with her all the time ("double Bopkeys"). She takes it in the car, snuggles it as she sleeps, and fondles the little scarf thing on it as she gets drowsy. The doll is really just a soft blanket with a doll head (it has no stuffing), which makes it easy for babies to hold. I love that it is machine washable (we also throw ours in the dryer with no ill effects). I know that Bopkey is one of those toys that I will remember forever and save away in her baby memory box. I might add that I have bought at least three other very highly rated soft "first" dolls, but this is the one that stole her heart. The others have never really been a part of her inner circle of playthings.
***UPDATE*** My daughter is about to turn four, and three years later, these are still her most beloved possession. Now she is their mommy and they are her babies. I can't believe she still loves these so much! I bought an extra one to stow away in case she has a daughter someday.

I want to really complain about how I received this Corolle "puppet" baby doll. I was under the impression, since I bought it from Amazon that I was going to receive the doll in it's original box all nice and new, and it arrived in a dusty, dirty old zip loc bag!!! If the doll had not been clean inside the bag with a tag still on, I would have sent it back immediately, but I needed it as a quick gift for someone who just had a baby! I got the impression it was a return or something and had no box and it sat on a dusty shelf for a couple of years!! What way is that to send an order out?? This has seriously degraded my view of buying from Amazon in the future.
