Cute doll, smaller and less chubby then pictures show him, smellyDec 07, 2008
By Fairydustwings I bought this doll for my two daughters. We are about to have our first son and I thought it would be nice to get them a boy doll to take care of. I have not given him to them yet but have taken him out of the box. I think Paul is adorable but he is much smaller and skinnier then the pictures make him look. I think the advertisements are showing a different doll all together, I wonder if they have changed how they make this doll. I like that he is anatomically correct. He is uncircumcised. I bought him for my daughters to use as a doll and don't plan on giving him water and making him go potty, we'll make believe he is going potty. He does have a strong smell, there is a powdery smell on him but the vinyl smell comes through that scent. The smell is very overpowering but we did just get him last week. I plan on leaving him near an open window at night for a few days. I really wish he had clothes. Corolle only offers one boyish outfit that fits him and I don't think it is very cute. I am disappointed that they don't offer more clothes since what he is wearing just looks like underclothes. The bottle and toilet are cute. I already gave them to my daughters to use with their other dolls. My almost three year old can get the bottles lid off easily, it could be a choking hazard for younger children. I took it away for now because I'm worried my 21 month old daughter will choke on it. I am not disappointed with this purchase but wish I had gotten a Calin or Tidoo instead.

doll wets before you push his belly but still is good for teachingJun 23, 2008
By J. Christenson My son really liked the doll and it was helpful with potty training. The doll would wet as soon as you gave it water. It is supposed to only wet when you push the belly. Still we liked the product overall.

cute doll, but doesn't work the way it's supposed to.Apr 01, 2011
By Jeff Davis I bought this doll to help potty train my son and decided to make sure it worked before the day of as other reviewers suggested. It didn't. It is supposed to drink from the bottle that comes with it but I couldn't get anything to go in. I tried squeezing the bottle to push the water in, I tried squeezing the tummy then letting go when the bottle was in his mouth to try to suck the water in, I tried both at the same time...didn't work. So I took the Head off to see if it was something I could fix. It uses a tube from the mouth to the neck and it looks like they sealed it with something (not quite wax, not quite rubber?) but the part of the neck the tube attached to was snapped off inside the tube with no way to reattatch it. Since several other reviewers had similar problems (not drinking or leaking from the neck) I am guessing this is a common problem. I am sure it would still suck up water from the tub if you squeeze it's belly and let go, but it doesn't "drink and wet." It is a great idea, but the quality is hit and miss. For the money I paid and the modifications I am going to have to make it would have been just as easy (and a lot cheaper) to use a normal doll and just do all the wetting/pooping for it on the sly. It is a cute doll and does smell good, just isn't functional. I hope this helps anyone else who's in it for the potty training.

Does Not Function ProperlyDec 26, 2009

Paul is suppose to drink, then pee when his belly is squeezed-the one problem with Paul, is he pees out of his neck-without any squeezing at all! My daughter gave this one round, placed him on a towel because he was leaking out of his neck-and that was the end of Paul. Don't waste your money!

My son loves Paul. He takes him everywhere. He has also helped with potty training. My son likes to sit on his potty next to Paul while Paul sits on his. This is better than I imagined.
