5Great Toy for 3 - 5 year oldApr 05, 2007
By Paul
My almost 5 year old son loves driving his Jeep all over the neighborhood. Because of the better handling and wheel design (not slanted), the Jeep is remarkably agile. What my kid has done so far:

- Taken the Jeep off road on bike trails

- Drive through iced dirt

- Drive through 1/2" mud

- Drive through 1/4" water puddles

- Pull passengers on a tied on Wagon (We almost died laughing)

I agree with the previous reviewer that the car is a bit big for a sub 3 year old, but my younger one (2.5) loves being the passenger.

3Not worth the extra money..Jun 05, 2007
By Kerry J. Manning "Kerry"
This is my third Power Wheel purchase. My almost 5 year old had a "regular" size Power Wheel Jeep and he loved it. However it doesn't have enough power or traction to get through all terrain. We upgraded to this one. I wasn't very impressed! It doesn't have anymore power than his regular sized jeep. It still can't go up hills and I don't notice it doing anything more than his other. It does have a radio and a clock and does some other cool stuff but performace wise....not any different than the regular jeeps. Why speed more money? You can buy two on the others for the price of this one.

4Large Ride on Jeep....May 13, 2007
By Roy Graber
We purchased this for our 4-yr old son back in Christmas (local closeout too low $$$ to print), and recently gave it to him for his birthday. It took me 2 hours to build it, and I couldn't believe the size of it. Our neighbor has a smaller one and this thing dwarfs it!

For the first 3 days we left the speed lock in place so it only went 2.5 mph. The brakes work automatically upon releasing the gas pedal. After removing the speed lock it goes 5mph, and is very agile. It does require 14hrs of charging, but probably lasts a couple of hours on that charge. Overall we are very happy, my son as well by the smiles on his face. Oh yeah, you will need a third garage for this LARGE jeep!

4Worth the priceJan 02, 2007
By Michael D. Perry "mperry642"
Bought this for our 2.5 year old son, it's a bit big for him now, but we figure by age 3 (summer time), it will be just fine. lots of power, and nice features just right for a little guy. Our son likes the removable engine panel in the front and has found it a perfect place to hide toys and the like. Have not had it in the grass or any other areas where the "ultimate traction" claim could be tested, but from what we have seen indoors one could easily believe that this will make a difference.

One final note, make sure you check the dimensions on this before ordering. it's very large but we recommend it!

1poorly constructed and poor serviceMar 03, 2011
By David Hillebert
This product was very fun while it lasted, but as I will explain, you will wish you never spent the money. After a couple of months the gears began to slip and the cheaply made wheels wore through leaving holes in the plastic tires. I ordered a new set of tires from the company, and they wore out rather quickly as well.

As time went on the gears stripped more and more and both rear wheels stripped at the place where the cheap plastic gear engages the wheels. I turned the jeep over and took everything apart. It clearly needs a new set of gears and new wheels and another set of tires as well. I called the company and after a long wait on hold was told that they no longer sell parts directly and that I must contact the nearest "service center" to order parts. The closest one is 200 miles away. I called the service center in Concord, CA and was told that they cannot sell me the parts. They said I have to bring the vehicle in and have them do it. (This repair is certainly not technically demanding.) They refused to consider the distance I would have to drive, and adamantly refused to sell me the parts. The man was rude and hung up on me.

I would not consider spending this much again on such a cheaply made vehicle. When you manufacture things out of cheap plastic, something is bound to need replacement even with utmost care. For the company to then refuse to sell needed parts is beyond ridiculous.
