Description:

Butterscotch Pony is a life-sized plush pony that loves to be groomed and cared for. She has many features similar to that of a real pony, including moving eyes, ears and head, soft fur coat and a swishing tail. Through sensors, Butterscotch can feel when she is being groomed and will move her head toward you, and may whinny and snort. The more you touch her, the happier she becomes. Just like a real pony, Butterscotch loves carrots and can be "fed." Hold the pretend carrot to her face, and she will open her mouth for it, or shake her head "no" if she has had enough. Kids can even sit on Butterscotch and she will make walking sounds. Measures 39" tall. Requires 6 "D" batteries (not included). Adult assembly required. Holds up to 80 pounds.

Features:

Butterscotch Pony fulfills every little girl's dream of owning a pony

Interacts in incredibly realistic ways: Moves head, blinks, swishes tail, and responds when spoken to and touched

Over three feet tall; can support a rider weighing up to 80 pounds

Loves to be fed and groomed; comes with her own carrot and brush

Recommended for ages 4 through 10

5A horse worth the moneyNov 08, 2006
By Kimberly Demetrulias
We bought this for the upcoming christmas for my daughter who is five, we put it together today and tested it out. All sensors function properly and it definatly sounds like a real horse. You can here some of the motor movement, but the cute factor overpowers it. She even makes carrot crunching noises when you feed her, she responds to your voice as well. The assembly was a little tricky, however the instructions were nice and clear. The one problem I am having is once you zip the zipper and click it into place, getting it undone has become a problem (still currently working on it). So if you are buying, just make sure everything is nice and tight (you'll understand why when you read the instructions) before you zip the head to the body. It requires 6D batteries and I must say the on off switch is epecially nice and easy to get to as is the battery case. Overall I think it is worth the money, I know my daughter is going to love it. This is also predicted to be a hot toy of the season so if you can buy it the sooner the better. Happy Holidays.

5Very charming and lifelikeNov 18, 2006
By Fund Raiser "Donation go-getter"
Although motor and gear noises can be heard from time to time, this is a very lifelike toy. Assembly took under 10 minutes; I like the package warning not to let children see this toy unassembled, ie. headless. Our pony was purchased for a school auction/fund raiser. Both adults and children have been charmed and somewhat taken aback by the advanced robotics. Children up to 80 lbs. can "ride" this toy. Although it seems marketed toward girls, any animal/horse loving child will want this toy. I'm going to be sad seeing it go to a new owner.

5Santa got all the creditDec 30, 2006
By Arthem "arthem"
I was a little concerned about buying this for my daughter, since she has been around real horses recently and spent time at a pony camp last summer. I thought she might not be impressed by a motorized pony. I was completely wrong - she absolutely loves this toy and has played with it non-stop since Christmas morning. I realize now that I should have given her this pony rather than let Santa deliver it; all I heard Christmas day was how great Santa is.

My only complaint is that while the cloth around the neck zips to to the body of the pony in a secure manner, the fabric is very loose right around the pony's neck, and you can easily feel the structural support for the pony's head. I can understand that this was done to minimize resistance on the motor and make the head more mobile, but unfortunately little girls like to hug ponies right around the neck, and I would think that this spoils the illusion a bit. It doesn't seem to bother my daughter, though.

I compare the value of this toy to the Barbie motorized Jeep my daughter got for her 6th birthday. They cost about the same, but in the few days since Christmas, the pony has already been played with more than the Jeep has been in two years My one fear is that the pony will not prove to be durable, but so far I have no indication that it is anything other than a great toy.

4Daughet loves it.Nov 18, 2006

We just bought this pony for our daughter and she loves it. Many places are selling it for much more than normal retail price because they are hard to find but we found one for $250. It is pretty expensive but much cheaper than a real pony and no mess. For the money I have to say my daughter has enjoyed her jeep much better. The pony was very easy to put together (10 minutes). You do have to turn the pony off or the batteries will run down. Our daughter liked the fact that she could sit on it. You need a-lot of space to buy this pony. The motor is very loud.

5Butterscotch PonyNov 11, 2006
By Mrs York
I purchased this for my daughter for christmas. It is assembly required and took about 10 to 15 minutes to put together and install batteries. Once together it will not fit back in original box. Only negative response is you can hear the motor sounds as the Pony moves but it's so adorable and lifelike you can overlook that.
