Be waryNov 01, 2006

"Crunk Panda™"
My son recently received this toy for his birthday and I am sorely disappointed.
For a couple of months both my children could not go to the store without hitting the button and making Spiderman sing.
Once we opened the package I was surprised to see a note about how the arms should be placed to avoid damage, seems a bit much to ask for a child's toy as children likely are not going to stop mid play to correct arm placement.
My real gripe is that now, less than 24 hours with the product it is unbearable to use. Once you press the buttons on his feet the song is accompanied by a very loud clicking that seems to some from the middle section of the toy. The clicking easily drowns out the singing and more than anything, it is a shame to have children disappointed so quickly because of poor construction.
In summary, it was cute and great when movement was fixed on a store shelf, but out of the box is a whole other issue.

Ca-hyuute.Nov 03, 2006
By TLL I bought this for Christmas the other day for my 18 month old nephew. I played it over the phone for him and he was in total glee. I actually had to play each song 5 or so times before he was satisfied, and even then he still wanted more.
It's true Spider-Man's arms were a little out of whack when I brought him home. But once you snap them into place the right way, he's good to go. It's a hoot and I recommend it to any of you past Tickle Me Elmo fanatics. Could it be the hot toy this holiday season? I think so. Get 'em while they last. :)

Adorable Spiderman toy!Nov 17, 2006
By T. Petersen My daughter, who just turned 4, requested this item for her birthday and her brother, 6, chose to give this to her. Both of them LOVE it. My daughter is very "girly-girl" and loves Barbies and Polly Pocket, but just adores this guy! He has been a hit everywhere we have taken him (grocery store, errands, etc.), and I'm amazed, because with the reviews, I wasn't expecting much.
I can see how some parents may consider this a more fragile toy with his hand motions. My children are not rough players, but we talked about how spiderman is not a "throw around" doll. He is watched and cuddled and they can dance with him. In car pool this morning, my 4yr old showed another 4yr old in our car how to treat spiderman, and it worked beautifully. I gave him 4 stars only because he only sings 2 songs, and I wish that there was a little more to him.

Great Toy & Entertainment for babies 18 months to 3 yrs oldNov 15, 2006
By L. Cupit I read a couple other reviews and we have had no similar problems with the Itsy Bitsy Spider-man toy. I guess one should note before buying that this is an electronically animated toy with hand movements to (2) sing-a-long songs for young children 18 months & older...I'd say 3 years at the oldest.
Note this is NOT a toy meant to be tossed around like a GI Joe Doll as some parents apparently might allow their children to do causing breakage. We bought one for twin 2 yr olds and they love it.
We obviously don't let the kids throw this toy around like a ball as it's not meant to be used in that fashion. It simply sits on a shelf, table or floor and then the parent (adult) or the child presses one of the spider-man's feet to play either of the two songs. The hands then move up & down along with the song mimicing the itsy bitsy spider hand movement we all have seen as children.
If the parent is educated enough he or she will see that you & your child can replicate the itsy bitsy spider song movement of the spider-man's hands as we've all seen as children. We've actually seen this toy help with are 2 yr olds hand/eye coordination by using it as it was meant to be used.
I can almost assure that any parent with the slightest common sense will see the benefit of a toy such as this for the recommended age children. If this electronically animated toy is tossed around by it's hands and/or hand movements are forced then breakage is almost assured as with any similar type of toy. Use it as manufacture created it and young children under 3 are assured of mental stimualation & coordination exercise as they watch & mimic the toys movement.

My Nephew Loves ThisJan 29, 2007
By Tina M. I purchased Itsy Bitsy Spider Man for my 15 month old nephew for Christmas, and he loves it. It is easy for him to operate, so he plays Spidey's songs and dances along over and over. I highly recommend it and give it four stars only because it would be cooler if there were more than two songs. Overall, a great toy for toddler boys.
