3a decent bikeNov 29, 2007
By D. Longley
I got this as a gift for my partner and she likes it. I test drove it and it works pretty well. It was fairly easy to put together although I needed to take it to a bike shop to get the brakes adjusted correctly. My only criticism is that the gear shifter is a bit weird and clunky and it's easy to get caught between gears as you're riding causing the bike to make a slight grinding sound. This is because it uses a twist adjuster so it's hard to gauge what gears you are on without looking down to see the number display. Of course as you are cruising through traffic this is not recommended! I may be old-fashioned or just haven't gotten used to it yet, but I prefer the traditional up-down push gears - you can tell where you are by feel. But it rides smoothly otherwise.

5Riding comfy for 9 months nowFeb 17, 2010

I am 5'9" tall. I love this bike. It is comfortable riding on the streets of New York, not just a smooth bike path. The shocks and comfy seat saves me lots of aches. The higher handlebar is comfortable for my height and it is adjustable for shorter women. It not only adjusts for height but for arm reach as well.
I would recommend this bike highly as I'm very happy with this purchase.

The original bike delivered had a problem. It did not shift properly. Amazon resolved the problem by sending a new bike and a prepaid pickup slip for the damaged one. Great service. I will shop with confidence in the future on amazon.com. The Kent bike is great. We replaced the seat with a bigger more comfortable seat. Great bike!!!

3Ok, needed lots of adjustments, ugly decalsSep 20, 2006
By Steph
First with the good points: Amazon had this bike to me within a few days of purchase. I live close to their warehouse.

I gave this bike 3 stars because it was not adjusted at all at the factory. Putting the pieces together was easy enough but even the bike shop I took it to had a hard time adjusting the gears.

I also bought a new bike saddle. The one that came with this bike might be good for some people but I thought it was a bit too hard and it needed more give in the err "numb-butt" hurting area. lol

Another thing I dislike about this bike is that the handlebars scrape way to easily. My husband scratched the top of them trying to adjust the breaks, etc.. grrrr... Oh, and, yet another thing - the decals were put on the bike badly and had lots of bubbles and little ridges. I ended up getting out the goo-gone and took them off!

How does the bike ride now? Ok. I finally got a chance to ride it around the neighborhood and it was comfortable enough.

I think next time I need a bike I'm going to visit the bike shop I went to to have repairs. By the time I got this bike fixed up well enough I could have bought a starter bicycle from them with all the bike shop perks!
