The worst toy ever made by man!Oct 19, 2007

This toy is a total rip off! It is 50 bucks for some plastic and a cheap ice cream maker. Problems with this toy:
1) It takes 10 minutes to get it out of the box. 2) There is no little motor to make the ice cream, this baby is manual powered. Shake it for ten minutes, stir, shake another five minutes. 3) I have no idea where they came up with the measurements for the recipes. If you make the recipes included, you'll have about 5 times more mix than will fit in the tiny little ice cream maker. Now, to put that in perspective. It would take you about an hour and 15 minutes of shaking to make that much ice cream! 4) The little gaskets in the top and bottom of the ice cream maker fall out constantly. 5) There is no insulation in the ice cream maker so water condenses on the outside and drips every where. 6) The recipes call for about 20 dollars worth of ingredients, which brings your grand total to $70 for a few ounces of ice cream. *lol* It is quite comical.
I hate this toy, but my 10-year old loves it, so whatta ya gonna do?

Not efficient but Kidz fans will love it.Dec 28, 2007
By J. Post My six year old daughter loves this toy! First, it is a cool place for Bratz Kidz to hang out and play and an ice cream maker second. It is a toy after all, so don't expect too much and you won't be disappointed.
The ice cream maker container holds less then 3/4 cup of liquid. I halved the recipe included and still had double what I could use. However, the recipes are quite simple and not as expensive as mentioned in other reviews. For basic vanilla ice cream I only had to buy half and half and a small box of rock salt (I found it at Wal-Mart next to the regular salt).
The negative is that we had to shake the container over the sink for 20 minutes because it was leaking water from the bottom (maybe because the seal wasn't tight enough). Also the rubber sealers on the top and bottom kept falling off while trying to put in the ingredients.
I won't dismiss attempting another round of ice cream-making because it was kind of fun and the ice cream maker did a good job of freezing the cream and it tasted pretty good. However, I think my daughter would be just as happy if we were to buy ice cream from the store and let her load up the snow lodge with the toppings, because that part of the toy is cute and doesn't require 20 minutes of manual labor for two licks of ice cream.
This product, over-all, is adorable and fun and seems pretty durable. I think any little girl who loves Bratz Kidz dolls would love to have this.

By Shanta Harris my daughter loves it! it's a little time consuming waiting for the ice cream to form but over all it is worth the time!
Don't waste your moneyFeb 08, 2008
By Chris D. This toy, as fun as it looks, is a nightmare if you actually want to make ice cream. There is a lot on manual work to make the ice cream and its not even close to what you see on the commercials (I know big surprise). It even calls for rock salt, which I found almost impossible to find in the stores.Except for the playset itself, save your money and buy a powered ice cream maker.

This product is very durable and it made my niece very very happy. Of course there was a bit of expense to make the ice cream but the end result of the child's happiness was worth every penny. The delivery of the product was also above expectations!!!!!
