The picture of this stuffed dog looks great and is why I purchased it. However, when I received the dog, the color was orange (not at all like a german shepard) and the ears were flat (probably due to packaging). Also, the nose of the dog was hard like plastic. I was really disappointed and have returned it. It did not look anything at all like the picture.

[...]. Color was more red than tan, legs were stiff, not very poseable. Just not right for what we needed. Would deal with this vender again.

My son was having nightmares and said he wished he could have a German Shephard to protect him at night. Well, a real one was out of the question so we thought we would try this one. It has worked for the most part, he definitely loves him and actually started to cry a bit when he received him he was so happy!

I got this toy from my husband for Christmas to temporarily fulfill my currently impossible wish for a real German Shepherd. It's a great replica! It's about as big as a real GSD, the structure is sound, the colors are right, and it's very cute. You can't see it in the product image, but the tail is actually very fluffy, with hair longer than on the rest of the body - a nice touch. It also has a white belly (which would disqualify it as a GSD, were it a real dog, but who cares!)
There are just a couple of nitpicky things that keep me from giving it 5 stars. It came with a couple of small bald spots where the fur patches were sewn together on the head, with white thread sticking out. I clipped the thread and ruffled the fur, so if you're not looking close you can't see it, but the fur comes off easily in those spots. The feet on the front legs don't really bend to make contact with the floor so it looks like the dog is standing on its tiptoes (in the product image it looks like they do, and I tried to bend them, but they're too stiff). Looking at this product image and the dog I got (and the other customer photo) makes me think that there seem to be at least two different model heads out there, and the one I got isn't the same as the ones in the images (in both the product image here on Amazon, and on the tag the dog came with!). I have uploaded two photos of my dog to show you what I mean. In the product images, the dog doesn't have black on the muzzle, and the head color pattern is very limited. The dog I got though has the classic black muzzle, and very realistic patterning on the face. The dog in the product image has a closed mouth, and the one I got has an open mouth, where the bottom jaw isn't supported so it kinda looks like it's broken and hanging loose, and the tongue is a bit bent where it was sewn on. And lastly, in the product image the dog looks like it has a sculpted plastic nose with detail - nostrils, etc. - but the one I got has a plush nose instead, with no detail or definition. I like the plastic nose with the details on it better, but oh well.
Be aware that the dog in the image may not be the exact same model you'll receive, but overall I think the one I received is better!
