Better than a live bird!May 06, 2012
By Don
"Barrels of fun!"
While I have nothing against keeping birds as pets personally, it's not my thing. My trailer is small enough with a cat and 2 dogs running around, and I consider it cruel to keep a bird in a small cage. Seeing the poseurs walking around with a bird, snake or iguana on their shoulder is about as annoying as having a house bird.
I still wanted a symbol of flight to hang in my screenroom off my trailer, so I opted for this model. It was well made and the individual pieces fit together well. After a few tries solo, I referred to the instruction sheet provided, and now it looks just swell hanging from some monofilament line swiped from my neighbor's tackle box in the back of his Datsun King Kab truck.
Though it was unnecessary due to the well designed slots, I opted to glue the connections in the event of the wood swelling or contracting. I may clear coat it, or perhaps paint it in the future, but for now, I'm enjoying the natural wood color.
Well done! I'll probably purchase more for friends and family.
It's flyingApr 10, 2012
By llenglish This model was great fun to assemble and even more fun to paint. I added some sheet plastic to the wings and now this pterodactyl is flying.
