4Good product, could be better...Feb 08, 2008
By B. Sharath "science buff"
We bought this for our 5-year old as he is really into puzzles and he's able to do 200-piece puzzles by himself. But, as it turns out, it is too hard for him to finish by himself, maybe in another year or two.

The puzzle is great, some details on the puzzle first - it doesn't have all the countries outlined, but it does have all the little islands and geographical details. It has little pictures of the common animals in different areas, so it nice being able to point out where all these animals my 5-year old learns about are found.

This was our first 3-D puzzle, so it was interesting seeing the globe evolve and the 3-D does make it more difficult. The main problem we faced were the final few pieces, which fit on top and are hard to get into place. Like any jigsaw, you need to press the pieces into place, a little too much pressure here or there and your little world caves in and you have a lot more to fix. I don't know if this could have been avoided with a different arrangement for the top, but I can easily imagine even an 8-yr old getting frustrated.

From an adults perspective, it could have been better (5-stars) if it was a little larger, had more detail and the top had been more stable. Thats said, this a good toy, lots of fun and interesting and I'm glad we bought it.

5Great buyFeb 06, 2010

I bought it for my 8 year old nephew and he really loved it - - found it challenging but not frustrating. It's as described, though it was smaller than I expected. They have other styles to choose from.

5Easier than it looks.Nov 12, 2010
By Nikki Rehman "Professional Mom"
My 8-year-old son loves maps, geography, and puzzles, so I thought this would be perfect for him. I was a little worried about the difficulty, but the pieces are numbered, and he was having more trouble digging out the right numbers than assembling the globe. I helped sort the numbers into groups of 10 while he assembled it, and he had it assembled in no time. He loved it! A word of advice, though - it doesn't bounce. We learned from experience.

4nice toyMar 05, 2012
By Isabelle Johnston-Haist "Isa"
I bought this toy as a present for my 8 years old grandson. He loved it, and made the puzzle in two days. It was fun while it lasted, but unfortunately, it is now sitting on a shelf and has lost most of his attention. I wanted an interactive globe which would have kept him busy longer, and looked at the Oregon Scientific Smart Globe, but, unfortunately, as I was taking my presents all the way to Switzerland, there would have been no space in my suitcase for such a large item, and the puzzle's size was a lot more convenient. But I would still recommend this toy.
