This bunny is really cute and my niece loves it she carries it to the store everywhere with her. It is a really nice size and easily washed.

These toys are soft and adorable! On top of that you're giving them a real star! How cool is that? Half of my grandkids are now planning to be astronauts! They use the Nasa site to check on their stars and usually end up widening their search. The teens and preteens really enjoy the game site. In addition to all this a portion of the profits goes to children's charities. I have rarely been happier with a gift I've purchased.

5Very Soft Shining Stars Bunny Plush!Jul 17, 2008
By J.E.F "Cartoon/Anime Lover"
I really liked this plush toy due to the fine quality of the materials it was made out of. That ribbon around its neck is silky soft and the lining of the ears is soft and the whole toy is very cuddly. It hasn't fallen apart and is made very well (my Webkinz rabbit plush lost its whiskers due to poor stitching). I like the metallic star on the foot and getting to name your own star (though it's more for fun, nothing super official about it), the site for it is pretty cute. The Webkinz site has it beat though as Webkinz offers more fun and games on their site than Shining Stars. I recommend the plush as a good hug toy for any child (like I said, it's pretty good material) and the Webkinz site for older kids to have fun with plenty of games (and taking care of your Webkinz). I like the Webkinz plushes too (not dissing them or anything), but none I have sport the silky materials of this SS Bunny plush.

1Bunny good, stars badMar 03, 2010

I'm sure that this is a great bunny. That's fine. But take the "name a star" aspect with a grain of salt...a big one.

The organization that "names" stars is the International Star Registry, which is an official-sounding title for a group with absolutely no official capacity. Here is an excerpt from the Wikipedia page on them:

'The International Astronomical Union (IAU) is the internationally recognized authority which designates stars, planets, asteroids, comets, and other heavenly bodies according to internationally accepted rules. The IAU does not sell naming rights nor does it authorize any other company or organization to do so. The IAU cautions consumers that products and services marketed by ISR and other companies have no formal or official validity whatsoever. In fact with a few exceptions of ancient or Arabic names, nearly all stars are designated by catalog numbers rather than names.

The IAU has called the ISR's star-naming business "a deplorable commercial trick."'

There are a number of articles debunking the ISR's claims, many of which are linked from the Wikipedia article for the ISR. I encourage anyone considering buying this product to give it a look.

It's still one cute bunny. Just don't expect that it'll make you a star.
