Our daughter received an exact shining stars yellow lab like this from some dear friends while she was in the hospital for her cancer treatments. It has been very well-loved, as well as durable. She takes it on the airplanes with her & to all of her treatments & checkups since...it gives her comfort, which in turn comforts us as well! I bought this one as a "spare" in case we need it or for her to give to one of her children some day. (It says not to wash it, but after as many trips as "Henry" as been on, the poor little dog gets a bit grungy! Besides, we try not to expose our daughter to anymore germs than necessary. I've machine washed "Henry" on gentle more than once & then just air dried...the washing hasn't hurt it a bit.) I marked that I love the "fun" value of this toy because with the imagination of this little dog's owner, it has a lot of "fun" value at our home!

We have been waiting over 2 months for username approval. No rejections or responses of any type from Shing Stars moderators. You need username approval to do certain things on the site (like have buddies, which is a "BIG" thing most of the kids want!)
The only way to contact them is through e-mail form on their site, 90% of the time you get a canned response. It took me 3 e-mails to even get a response from them (and guess what- they answer they gave implied it was a canned response or did not read the entire e-mail).
Stick with Web Kinz! At least there is plent of FAQ's on their site (something else Shining Stars has very little of)
It's not very compatiable with FireFox either.

We love this toy. We have another for my other son, the blue bear. Although I cannot comment on the customer service aspect of this item, I can tell you that the dog is very soft, and very cuddly. It's very nicely made and the perfect size for carrying around everywhere we go. The added bonus of the star-naming is a very nice touch. Our boys are too young to understand right now, but it's a neat concept.

My grand daughter was very pleased with her yellow lab Shining Stars. The thought of naming a start thrilled her. Not only is the toy adorable, it seems to be well made and was everything I expected!

We got this toy as a gift, and it included a star in your child's name. Directions are simple, just go to their website at www.shiningstars.com. Only problem is that there aren't any stars left. Just says check back later. Having been checking the site for a few weeks now. Starting to just be a giant pain in the ass.
