Cheap GimmickDec 30, 2009

The Slime tube sealant, i.e. the green goop that comes in bottles, works. These slime tires are a gimmick; they only succeed in making a mess.
I replaced 3 old flat bike tubes with these slime tubes, and each and every one was flat within a month. I should be more specific: These tubes are okay for a street bike because there is very little debri on a street capable of puncturing a tire, thus the slime never sees the light of day. For a mountain bike these things are a disaster. Actually, they go flat more readily than a normal tire tube, likely because the tubes themselves are cheaply made.
Road bikes should find these tubes 'suitable', barely, and only because they don't encounter punctures as often. I don't recommend them. Get a bottle of the Slime sealant and pair that with a strong, well made tube.

Product fine-The shipping was slower than usual for Amazon sellerOct 29, 2011
By RDW I just mounted the tubes with new tires and all is well. I have used "Slime" tubes before and they have saved me from disaster in my wheelchair... I couldn't believe that my tire started hissing when I pulled a "goathead sticker" out of the tread. I was sure I would be flat and stuck in a few minutes. The leak sealed up as soon as my tire pressure went down a little I usually run 65 PSI or more in those tires). Apparently the Slime must be able to clot at a lower PSI... The tire was plenty hard when the hissing stopped so I was seriously happy. I don't install new tires without the Slime... We use this stuff in our ATVs too but that comes in big bottles. Product is definitely 5-stars but the seller (Grady's Hardware, Inc) took 12 days to get product to me... later than the 5 days they led me to believe.

It hasn't gone flat and I don't expect it to any time soon.Aug 13, 2010
By ScottLS I never ride off road so I'd only worry about that occasional shard of glass or nail which this is designed to help protect from, as far as getting a flat. Since this has never happened to me I can't give an opinion on how well it does that so all I can say is that it wasn't any harder to install than an ordinary inner-tube, it pumped up and held air ok so as far as I'm concerned, it works with no complaints.
If this changes I will change my post here.

So far so good...Jul 02, 2008

I replaced both of our bike tires with these in hope that they do what they say. A month has passed and so far so good. My daughter rides her bike for a paper route so the tires get a lot of miles on them. Only thing I would add is that if you puncture-proof strip that you can be placed between the tube and tire. That is an added protection. For the price difference these are well worth it. I would like to read of review of someone who has had a leak which the sealant inside the tire prevented a replacement.
Cheap purchaseNov 12, 2011
By Derrrrrrrrrrrk I bought two of these after a recommendation from a friend. It works pretty well, but I've noticed that they don't hold air all to well. I checked for leaks and couldn't find any. It just seems like the tube itself never fills all the way up. I have to pump my tires up every 4 weeks or so. But no huge leaks. *knock on wood* It is good to mention, that the price is pretty good. My nearest Target had simple tubes for about the price of these. So if it prevents any leaks, it will be worth it.
