Not my favorite Thomas floor puzzleSep 21, 2007
By busymama My 2.5 year old daughter has the Thomas Off to Work floor puzzle and loves it. She puts it together several times daily. I got this other one for her best friend's birthday. He was turning 3. When the box was opened and we went to put it together, I was disappointed. While it was a good size and seemed to be well made and durable, there were two reasons I didn't like it as much as the Off to Work puzzle. (1) Some of the pieces didn't fit INTO each other so that they locked into place. Instead, some of the pieces just rested next to each other. This is much harder for young kids to figure out and also results in pieces slipping apart from each other as the child goes on to do other pieces. (2) The outer edge is a freeform train shape. This is hard for the child to realize, so the outer edges are not helpful at all in figuring out which pieces go where and actually seemed to be a major distraction. The other Thomas puzzle is a simple rectangle shape so it's easy to think of it in terms of edge pieces, corner pieces, and inner pieces. I wouldn't buy this one again.

Thomas is a TootNov 04, 2008

My two year old grandson plays with his floor puzzles every day. Thomas is a good educational puzzle because there are several trains in the puzzle and they all look alike, so it takes a little trial and error to put it together. The pieces are safe and durable. Highly recommended or this age group.

My son got this for his 2nd birthday and I must say he uses it all the time. He is obsessed w/Thomas and loves puzzles. He even showed his Papa how to put it together. He is able to sit and do it all by himself. This toy earned me time alone in the kitchen:)

By Parks816 My 2yr old son LOVES this puzzle. He's able to do it all by himself, and is so proud when finished. It has big pieces and easy to put together. Its survived so far and my son is not gentle. He loves taking the pieces and putting the faces together. Great buy!
Depends on the child.Feb 08, 2012
By Ang If your child loves Thomas and loves puzzles then he/she will most likely enjoy this puzzle. As for age, it also depends on the child..some 2 year olds can probably do it with a lot of help but I would say 2 and half and up is best. The quality is good and it seems durable.
