Barricade is cool, but has a few problemsJan 15, 2008
By Cindy Thompson My four-year old son received Fast-Action Battlers Barricade for Christmas and he LOVES it. A couple of issues: in robot mode, both of his arms just sort of hang freely -- you can't pose them in position. Also, his battle blade is cool, but the blades pop off quite easily and I find them rather difficult to secure back on (plus you have to make sure not to accidentally vacuum them up, as they're pretty small!) A note about Fast Action Battlers in general, personally I don't see why they're considered easier to transform than the Legends or Deluxe class. I have to help my son with Barricade, as well as with FAB Frenzy, which I think is also tricky for small hands to transform. He also has the FAB Starscream, and THIS one he can actually do himself. Overall though I have to say these transformers are a lot of fun and are among my son's favorite toys.
I never got the toyMay 14, 2011
By ShannonTampa The toys is probably wonderful. It is a hard to find toy & my 5 year old Transformer loving son desperately wanted one for Christmas. He asked Santa for it and it was the toy he wanted most for Christmas. I was so excited when I found this on Amazon & ordered it for him. To my dismay, the toy never arrived "lost in the mail", the vendor had no more to send, and would not do anything to fix the problem. My son was crushed & cried on Christmas morning.
Car is cool, robot is OKDec 17, 2008
By Morgan I don't know how these can be considered "easy" to transform. They are no doubt easier than other categories of transformers, but getting this one back to a car is a pain. The car mode is very cool-they did a good job with the design. I like the blade on it, too- there's no missile that can be lost and he still has a weapon at all times. We have several from this series, and this one was the first to actually be permanently broken- trying to do the arm transformation requires a big person's touch, and younger children will just begin to yank on the arms. Buy a cooler looking more complicated one- you'll be doing the transformation on either one of them, anyways, and at least you'll like it better.

Kid-friendly transformerDec 17, 2007
By C. Lee The Fast Action Battler series of Transformers is a great one for ages 4-7. They transform between robot & vehicle, and the transformation is easy enough for a youngster to handle. Once you get into the higher level transformers, the transformation becomes more intricate and the young kids will continuously ask their parents to help.
While the Fast Action Battlers' vehicle modes are very realistic, the robot representations are only fair, but there has to be some tradeoff to make the conversion easier. This hasn't bothered my 5 year-old any, and he plays with these toys constantly.
