Great, except for one-time use packagingDec 28, 2006

This is a great variant of Uno. My daughter received it for a holiday gift and all of my kids love it. It's simple enough for the five year old to play her own hand, fast paced enough that the adults don't get bored. In poor lighting it can be difficult to make out the Spin emblem on the cards.
The only problem with this game is the packaging. It's utterly useless as a storage container and the size and shape of the game make it difficult to find some other option for keeping it all together.
Playability: 5 Stars
Ease of Entry: 5 Stars

Different than regular UNO, and it rocks!Oct 21, 2006

It's hard to understand at first, but you'll get the hang of this game. Each player must spin the wheel depending on if you get a spin card or not. After thr spin, you can do various things in the game.
This is the best UNO so far (better than UNO Attack).

Wonderful game, FUN and good, clean family fun.Apr 13, 2007
By Michaele L. This game has really been a lot of fun and a wonderful way to have a "family night". We've done a lot of laughing and also some groaning. Even if you get a lousy hand, one spin could change everything and it realy is unpredictable. Keeping scores will help with math skills and so you can tell yourself that you're learning but all in all, it's just good clean fun.
My only warning - A previous reviewer stated that the packaging was poor. I agree. At first, I was thrilled that it took me less three minutes to get the game out and assemble it (other parents may appreciate that, especially after spending more than 20 minutes to open some items!); however, you really cannot store the game in the original box since there is a great big hole (so that the potential buyer in the store can TRY ME and spin). I still give it five stars, however, because it is otherwise a lot of good, clean fun and it really seems to be even more fun with a lot of players. It's worth the price. I applaud Mattel as I have been a little disappointed in their other products as of late.

Great Gameplay but Quality can be betterSep 10, 2008

Interesting take on uno makes it refreshing. The wheel is well made but not the cards. The cards are flimsier than the uno cards that I had in the past. No storage box makes it a pain. The original box that came with the game does not allow you to use it as storage box because of the topside has a large die-cut hole. It is a minor issue. Overall, if you are a uno fan, you'll like it a lot. It mentioned 2 to 10 players. However, if you have 10 players, I think you need a 2nd deck of cards but I don't think there is a way to buy replacement or additional deck of cards.

An enjoyable variation on the classic UnoJan 25, 2010
By Rob Mattheu UNO has been one of my favorites since I was a child. The fast moving card game is great for families and friends because it can be played quickly and a few well played hands can have brother turning against brother, friend against friend. Apparently, Mattel figured that UNO needed a few brand extensions to pull in some extra dough, so they created UNO Spin, a game that combines the basic rules of UNO with a spinner that adds an extra element of chance to the game.
The game begins just like UNO, with seven cards being dealt to each player and players following the color or number to discard their cards in sequence. The spinner comes into play with special UNO Spin cards, denoted by a swirling pattern on the card. If you lay one of these cards, the next player in line has to play an UNO Spin card, and follow the results of the spin, which could range from being able to discard certain cards to having to shift everyone's hand to the left.
While this does often make the game entertaining in that your great hand can shift to garbage (or vice versa) with a spin of the wheel, it also takes a lot of the strategy out of the game, since attempts to play your cards against your neighbors can be ruined in an instant when you have to give up your hand.
The spinner itself is well made and appears to be designed for many years of play. Unfortunately, Mattel packages the game in a box that doesn't lend itself well to storage, which makes it very likely that cards will get lost or damaged.
UNO Spin is a enjoyable variation for UNO players tired of the same old game.
