Dun Gotta Gun Champion Reining Horse With his striking hour-glass shaped blaze, Dun Gotta Gun's looks might be enough to make him memorable, but turn this beautiful stallion loose on his show-ring reining patterns, and it's evident why Dun Gotta Gun is the champion he is. This young American Quarter Horse stallion, by the famous Hollywood Dun It, out of Katie Gun, hit the shows as a three-year-old (2001) and gorgeously spun and slid his way to the top of the NRHA Non-Pro Horse Chart. The very next year Gun showed no inclination to relinquish his crown – by summer holding a distinct "money earned" lead over a sizable field of bewildered talent! Originally paired with Non-Pro Rider Champion Mandy McQuade McCutcheon, Gun's performances have him going strong. His high-energy spins and exciting and stylish sliding stops make him a crowd favorite and time and again one of the judges' top choices. In the barn, Gun is a natural family horse, mellow and kindly, who, according to Mandy, "...doesn't try to give [you] any trouble anywhere." Gun will be continuing to show in Non-Pro divisions with his new owner, Jerry Kimmel of Granbury, Texas, and could very well continue in the hoofprints of his well-known sire by becoming a breeding stallion. Given the achievements and awards he's garnered so far, Dun Gotta Gun has already proven that he's a winner no matter what he undertakes!
