Hollywood Dun It Legendary Reining Horse To succeed in Hollywood, you must work hard, dream big, and believe in yourself. To succeed with Hollywood Dun It, however, owner Tim McQuay of McQuay Stables, Tioga, Texas, just sat back and watched Dun It slide his way into the record books. When the golden dun stallion was inducted into the National Reining Horse Association’s (NRHA) Hall of Fame in 2000, then NRHA President Frank Costantini asked, “Is there anyone here who hasn’t won with a Hollywood Dun It […son or daughter]?” While most of Dun It’s accolades resulted from his achievements as a leading sire, he had a short but successful performance career himself. In 1986 he was the NRHA Futurity Reserve Champion, and in 1987 he won the NRHA Derby and Superstakes Championships. Dun It reached a new level of success after he retired to stud, and remains the NRHA’s leading sire. In April 2000, he became the only horse whose offspring’s winnings surpassed the $2 million mark, and in 2003, his get’s earnings passed $3 million! His sons and daughters have succeeded at all levels of NRHA and AQHA competitions and have already made their mark in the international arena of USET competition. At the 2002 Bayer/USET Festival of Champions, half the winning USA Team were Hollywood Dun It’s progeny! As they say, believe in Dun It and dream big!
