Ideal Oldenburg Stallion

In 1988, a German-foaled Oldenburg colt was selected as a possible stallion candidate to improve warmblood breeding in America. Sixteen years and some 465 foals later, his success in that regard can be summed up simply: has he ever!

Today that stallion, the regally handsome Ideal, stands at The Ultimate Piaffe in Oregon where he reigns unchallenged as the leading North American Oldenburg stallion of all time.

Of some 200 stallions approved by the International Sporthorse Registry/Oldenberg NA, Ideal has been the #1 sire of Premium Foals and high-scoring Premium Foals since 1986. An impressive 51% of his foals presented to the ISR/Oldenburg NA have been awarded Premium Foal status. He has produced offspring competitive in all of the Olympic disciplines, Dressage, Show Jumping, Eventing, and Combined Driving, and has sired Hunter and Horse Trial Champions as well as on line Champions and Premium Mares.

Ideal consistently produces attractive foals with excellent conformation, movement, and athleticism. Yet his unwavering popularity with fans young and old may be attributed to the other traits he most generously passes on his charming character, his intelligence, and his willing and loving nature. When considering all of Ideal's extraordinary qualities and successes, it's little wonder that he has been mentioned in the same breath as Secretariat as an example of a truly exceptional horse.

Now a Four-Star Stallion, Ideal continues to fulfill the legacy passed on to him by his legendary foundation sires, Inschallah, Zeus, and Furioso II. Through his bloodlines and that of his offspring stallions and mares, Ideal's impact on warmblood sporthorses is one that will endure for the ages.
