Madison Avenue
National Show Horse

All eyes are riveted on Madison Avenue as she enters the ring, and for good reason.

With her proud carriage, high-stepping action and “look at me” personality, this beautiful National Show Horse is the picture of crowd-pleasing showmanship! It’s easy to see how she came by her popularity. The breeding of the Arabian horse with the American Saddlebred, the National Show horse combines beauty, grace, athleticism and personality in a harmony of features representing the best of both breeds.

National Show Horses stand between 15.0 and 16.0 hands, but their long and elegant necks topped by refined and intelligent heads make them often appear larger. Nothing compares to a National Show Horse’s naturally proud head carriage and its exciting and energetic movement. The crossing of these breeds has produced winners for many years, but it was only in 1982 that the National Show Horse earned its name and breed recognition with the arrival of the NSH Registry.

Today, to be registered as a National Show Horse, a foal must be at least 25% Arabian but no more than 99% Arabian With its intelligence, trainability and versatility, the National Show Horse is a popular choice for riders in a wide variety of classes, including Halter, English Pleasure, Pleasure Driving, Country Pleasure, Fine Harness, Three Gaited, Five Gaited, Western Pleasure, Hunter Pleasure, Show Hack and Equitation.

Will Madison Avenue win this time out? Her rare buckskin color — part of her Saddlebred heritage — will certainly catch the judges’ eye. In the end, though, it will be her elegance, ability, and instinctive desire to perform that will earn her place in the victory spotlight!
